After getting cancelled and fired from her sitcom job for an old blackface sketch, Julia assembles a group of other cancelled celebrities to pull of a heist of sorts: get uncancelled. Julia is loosely based off of Sarah Silverman, and other characters are based off of celebrities like Dave Chapelle, Louis CK, JK Rowling, Kevin Spacey, etc. This is a heist show, so there will be lots of twists and reveals.

The main message of the series is “it’s not our pasts that define us but what we do now,” as the show portrays the characters both as lovable but also as very flawed people. It portrays these flawed people earnestly in a Good Place sort of way with Oceans Eleven type twists and turns.
