In a dystopian not-too-distant future, a couple residents discover that life doesn’t have to be the terrible way it is, and, in fact, it used to be better. The leaders might be humans, or they might be aliens, but our residents must take a stand against whatever they are or doom society forever.

The message of the series is “we can take control over the outcome of our lives” as the residents have to get themselves out of a terrible world that everyone else has accepted for themselves. This should feel like it belongs in the world of 1984 while also having some War of the Worlds aspects to it.
